Hobbies & Interests

I am currently exploring my photography and videography skills in a new way.  I have linked to my adventure travel blog below where you can see me attempt to put these skills to good use.  I'm currently shooting on an older Canon DSLR, my phone and a DJI Mini 2.

4wd touring gives me the opportunity to take my family out for the day (or the month) and explore places that are off the usual tourist route.  Driving on beaches, following the rambling Murray river, or generally just getting out to see something new.

Having rediscovered mountain biking, I've been getting out on the bike a lot more and this will help to feed my photo and video hobby by providing a new path to explore and shoot my adventures.

I've also jumped out of planes!  It's been a long time since I completed my AFF, but having recently completed another tandem jump, I have the bug and am looking forward to jumping solo again.

The Internet of Things

I am currently employed as an IoT Specialist at AssetAware IOT where our aim is to provide custom solutions around data acquisition, analysis and automation

Having recent experience with an international AgTech firm founded in Israel, I bring to AAIOT a new approach to the traditional IOT offering.

Telecommunications

I've previously worked in the Telecommunications industry in a range of roles.  Building and maintaining network infrastructure from dirt to full site, I've been involved in every aspect of the telecommunications lifecycle, from DC Power, Transmission & Switching equipment in the exchange, to Microwave and  cellular hardware on the mobile site. I've even built towers from scratch.

Crane Hire

Between major telco projects I took some time to get into the general crane hire industry.  Starting as a Dogman and Rigger, I progressed to a point where I was operating cranes in the Open Class (C0) of machines (Over 100t)  My time in the crane yard only made me a better rigger, which directly translated when I eventually moved back into the Telecommunications world.
